Linda Nakamura Demo City Oppose 26-203 — Rezone Application R-26-004 — 15-Acre Parcel on S. Elm Ave from RS-5 to RM-1 for Multi-Family Housing

I oppose the rezone of the South Elm Avenue parcel from single-family to multi-family. Our neighborhood is already experiencing increased traffic and strain on schools. Adding 180 apartments will overwhelm our local infrastructure. The developer should be required to fund roadway and school improvements before any rezone is approved.

Thomas Washington Demo City Support 26-204 — General Plan Amendment GPA-26-002 — Downtown Mixed-Use Overlay Zone

The Downtown Partnership enthusiastically supports the Mixed-Use Overlay Zone. Allowing residential units above ground-floor commercial will revitalize our downtown, create a vibrant 18-hour district, and support local businesses with a built-in customer base. This is consistent with best practices in urban planning and essential for our downtown's future.
