James Chen

James Chen was first elected to the Demo City Council in 2021, representing District 2. He serves as Council Vice President and chairs the Public Safety Subcommittee. Before entering public service, Chen spent 15 years as a civil engineer with the California Department of Transportation. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Vice President Chen is focused on infrastructure modernization, traffic safety, and expanding public transit options.
