Housing Authority

The Demo City Housing Authority provides affordable housing and related services to low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities throughout the city. The Authority manages over 2,500 public housing units and administers approximately 4,000 Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8). The seven-member board oversees an annual budget of $45 million and works to expand affordable housing options, prevent homelessness, and promote self-sufficiency among residents. The Authority also partners with nonprofit developers on new construction and rehabilitation projects.
